Wiper Blade Installation Guide

1. Release the wiper blade

Locate the small tab on the underside of the wiper blade, then push it in (or pull on it) to release. Pull down on the blade, and it should slide off the hook of the metal arm.

  • You may need to tap or tug on the blade to remove it if there’s built-up debris or corrosion.
  • Sometimes, it helps to push the wiper up into the holder, press the tab, and then remove.
  • Important: To prevent damage, gently place the metal arms back against the windshield.
  • For extra safety, place a rag or cloth under the metal arm while resting on the windshield.

2. Take out the new wiper

If the left and right wipers are different sizes, match the new wiper to the correct side. Push the movable hinge on the new blade until the hinge is perpendicular to the rest of the blade.

3. Line up the new blade

Position the new blade so that the metal hook will go through the hole in the blade.

  • The metal hook should push up against the rubber insert.

4. Click the new blade into place

Pull up on the blade until you hear and feel it click into place. Then gently push the blade back down to rest against the windshield.

Repeat this process for the other wiper blade.

5. Check the wiper arm angle

If the wiper arm angle is incorrect, it may cause chattering. Ideally, the blade should be at 90 degrees to the glass mid-swipe due to the windshield's curvature.

6. Test the new wipers

Turn on the ignition and spray wiper fluid to check if the installation is correct.

  • If streaking occurs, clean the rubber insert with alcohol wipes or mineral spirits.
  • Verify that each blade is installed on the correct side and properly oriented.
  • If issues persist, visit a local auto parts store for assistance.
